nothing much

Stockport Beerfest friday night. Only got to try 3 different beers, but was introduced to a very good pub - Ye Olde Victoria. Thought it had closed down as the windows were bricked/boarded up on one side, but turned out to be a very nice old-fashioned pub, of which there are not too many of these days.

Just noticed that there are Elections to be held in Albania in July 2005- hope this doesn't mean mass violent demonstrations, police using teargas to dispell rioters, tanks on the streets. Albania now has ATM machines, whereas in 2004 they didn't, so maybe we've left it a year too late. I also hear tales that a Club Med resort is to open in 2007/8?!

Things on too good in Uzbekistan these days and the same goes for Kyrgyzstan (which had the reputation of being one of the most open and democratic former Soviet States).
